Google Sign-In Data

When you sign in with Google, we access the following information from your Google account:

Email address - to create and identify your Giftspan account
Name - to personalize your experience
Profile photo - to display in the app interface

This Google user data is used solely for authentication and personalization within Giftspan. We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or any other Google services. We store your email, name, and profile photo URL in our database to provide our service. We do not share your Google data with third parties except as described in the "Data Sharing" section below. You can revoke Giftspan's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account permissions.

AI and Data Processing

Our service uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate gift recommendations. When you chat with our concierge:

Your conversation is processed by our AI partner to generate recommendations
We store conversation history to provide continuity and improve recommendations
AI-generated recommendations are based solely on information you provide

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

AI providers (Anthropic) - to process conversations and generate recommendations
Payment processors - to handle transactions securely
Email services - to send transactional emails
Law enforcement - only when legally required

Data Security

We protect your data through:

Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission
Secure password storage using industry-standard hashing
Regular security reviews of our infrastructure
Limited employee access to user data

Your Rights

Access and Export

You can view all information we have about you in your account settings, including your recipient profiles and conversation history.

You can update your account information and recipient profiles at any time through the app.

Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account:

Your account and login credentials are permanently deleted
All recipient profiles you've created are permanently deleted
All conversation history is permanently deleted
All wishlists and saved recommendations are permanently deleted
This action cannot be undone

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Children's Privacy

Giftspan is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
